Canadian Drug Prices

I went through our medications, and found as the other people have reported, that not all prices are lower. After checking Canadian prices at several sites, I then checked US pricing at various sites. Drug pricing seems to be all over the map, that is, no one source has the best price on drugs. Frequently you can do much better by changing the quantity, or substituting a generic drug.
Until recently, I had coverage through my former employer. The last few prescriptions I had filled had listed on the bottom: Drug price, Plan responsibility, my cost. What a revelation that was! The $1183 per month I was spending on coverage for my wife and I resulted in the cost for a three month supply of two copays, in some drugs the copay exceeded the cost of the drug, so the insurer paid nothing, others were close, where the company paid less that we did. It was only on high blood pressure and some breathing medications that the company paid more than we did.
A while back I came to the conclusion that as in nearly all other things medical, it seems that the primary point is to obfuscate until it is impossible to understand what things should cost. Money seems to be the most important aspects of health care. I also make it a policy that if it is advertised on TV, I probably DO NOT need it.
To come up with the lowest cost for drugs it pays to shop the Internet extensively.
