How to enable attachments
in Outlook Express v6.0

If you upgrade Outlook Express to version 6, Microsoft attempts to establish a secure email environment by default. This default environment does not allow the user to download, execute, or save attachments. They have done this because attachments are a primary means to deliver viri and Internet worms.
With knowledge of the facts as to why attachments are by default disabled, if you feel it important to download, execute, or save attachments, you can take the responsiblility for your use of attachments and use the following procedure to enable them. This may lead to viral or Internet worm infections, which can be costly to eradicate.
I will not take any responsiblility for what happens to your system in the event you decide to do this. By using this document you acknowlege that you are doing this of your own volition.
In Outlook express version 6, select "Tools>Options" this brings up the "Options" dialog. Select the "Security" tab at the top of the "Options" dialog. Under "Virus Protection", uncheck the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus."
